Many people are interested in lions because of their extreme strength and their diet. It is rare for lions to eat humans or even attack them, but in the 1930s and 1940s, prides of lions in Tanzania didn’t eat like normal lions. Instead, they were hungry for human flesh! During those times, they hunted and killed nearly 1,500 people in 15 years.
Usually Lions eat a lot of things like zebras, wildebeest, impala, and buffalo. A lion pride will even take down a 20 foot tall giraffe! Lions live all around Africa. They live in the savanna, the forest, the shrubland, and the desert.
Lions act differently when it comes to dominance because if a male wants to become leader of a pride then he has to fight another male lion. Male and female lions look different because female lions have sandy colored fur that blends into sun scorched grasslands and the males usually has darker hair on their heads and on their shoulders.
Lions are becoming endangered so it’s important to take care of them and respect them and their habitat. Lions are strong and fearless animals and if they become extinct then we can’t observe them or enjoy them.
