You Can Make a Virtual Visit to a Real Wisconsin Park Thanks to the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin

The Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin, a non-profit organization, started a project named Virtual Tours of Nature, also known as Virtual Field Trips.

A Virtual Field Trip speaks for itself, it is a tour you can watch through your phone or any device. In the videos you can see clips of different locations, while highlighting places that stand out. The first part of the videos can take up to one minute, while the second part can take up to 20 minutes. During the videos, individuals can take notes and describe the images that are displayed.

Virtual Field Trips were developed as a way to protect the park's waters, wildlife and lands while still allowing people to experience them. It also helps viewers gain a deeper understanding of nature and the work that is needed to prevent extinction.

The Virtual Field Trips take place at Peninsula State Park and other parks and wildlife areas around Wisconsin. Some field trips explore the parks themselves, while others focus on local wildlife, like the saw-whet owl. The development of Virtual Field Trips has created the opportunity for more people to learn about nature and how they can get involved to conserve it for the future.
