Chameleons Look Like Little Dragons

Many people think that dragons only exist in fairy tales, but there is one real species that look, a lot like them. This small critter is called a chameleon.

Chameleons have plump bodies covered with tough scales. They mostly live in Africa or on a close by island called Madagascar. Chameleons are also found in south Europe, India, and the Middle East.

The over 130 species of chameleons like to eat locusts, crickets, praying mantis, and other insects. One other fact you may not know about chameleons is that they can rotate their eyes all the way backwards, which helps them to catch their prey and protect themselves from predators. They are amazing creatures.
