Tigers Hunt Prey Large and Small


Even though tigers only hunt once every five to six days, they are experts at killing. Tigers have orange fur with black stripes. Their fur helps them hide in tall grass, especially at night when they are more active.

Tigers hunt deer, pigs, cows, monkeys, and reptiles. They also kill elephants and young rhinoceroses. When tigers hunt, they can travel many miles trying to find prey.

When the Sun is out, it gets very hot in the Asian jungles, which is where tigers live. When the heat becomes too much, the tigers like to go into lagoons. They are good swimmers and can even swim across large bodies of water.

Tigers are big cats and are difficult to catch. That is just one of the many reasons they are one of the most dangerous animals in the world!
