Michael Jackson: The King of Pop Music

Michael Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. Jackson, the “King of Pop“, was famous for singing, writing songs, and dancing. He has been named the best singer ever. He had a lot of siblings most of whom were a part of the family band, The Jackson Five: Rebbie, Latoya, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Janet, Marlon, and Randy. Jackson’s mother, Katherine Jackson, was a homemaker and a devout Jehovah’s Witness, while his father, Joseph Jackson, had been a guitarist who put aside his career to provide for his family as a crane operator. Jackson father pushed them to succeed, but he also abused his children. Jackson was especially close to his sister close to Janet. The Jackson family lived in a small house in Gary, Indiana. Even though they moved, people still think of the house as theirs.

Jackson had a strong voice, even though he was so young he continued to sing as a young adult. In 1982 he released an album called, Thriller. Seven of the nine songs became top hits. These included “Thriller”, “Billie jean”, “Beat it people”. People were even hyped about “Dirty Diana,” and “Bad,” and also the “Way You Make Me Feel”. Jackson got 12 Grammys for the album Thriller. Jackson died in 2009 at the at the age of 50, of either intoxication, or a lethal overdose of prescription drugs. He was a legend during his time and his legacy will live on forever.
