Pliner to Serve as Oregon High School’s Next Principal

Lafollette High School’s assistant principle, Jim Pliner, recently announced he will be leaving the school at the end of the 2014-2015 academic year. Pliner will take the position of head principle at Oregon High School (OHS) for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Before moving to Lafollette, Pliner served as the principle at Oregon Middle School from 2010-2013. When presented with the opportunity to lead at the high school level, he took it. Pliner's children attend Oregon High School, and Oregon is the community he currently lives in as well.

Pliner says he is looking forward to building a strong community and safe environment for students at OHS. He says LaFollette has helped him grow and prepare for the challenge of being a head principle. He’s eager to use his leadership skills in the OHS community.

A former classroom teacher at Sennett Middle School and Elvehjem Elementary, Pliner also coached baseball at LaFollette. He says what he’ll miss most about LaFollette is the community of talented teachers, the school's diversity, and its wonderful students.

We too, will miss you at LaFollette Mr. Pliner, and we hope you'll come to visit us soon. Good luck to you at OHS!
