Arctic Foxes

Did you know that the Arctic fox can outsmart predators like wolves or polar bears?

The Arctic fox has dense fur, small ears, and a short head. Their tails are short, thick, and bushy so they can stay warm during the cold temperatures. Their large paws help avoid sinking into the snow. The Arctic foxes’ coat is white in the winter so they can camouflage in the snow and hide from predators but during the summer they turn a bluish-brown.

The Arctic fox eats rodents, birds, eggs, fish, carrion, and dead animals that they steal from bigger predators. The Arctic fox lives in North America, Scandinavia, Siberia, and close to the North Pole because it likes the cold. The Arctic fox can live up to 15 years and is related to many wild dogs such as the gray wolf, red fox, and the coyote.

Arctic foxes may be cute and furry but they are not friendly. They are also cool because they can survive in cold places. With camouflage and warm fur, they can take care of themselves in the cold, but these animals need to be protected so they stay healthy.
