All About Lizards


There are many interesting things about lizards. For example, did you know that some lizards can detach and grow new tails? Believe it or not, this is just one unique ability of lizards.

There are many different types of lizards. There are more than 4500 species associated within the group. The largest lizard is the komodo dragon, measuring up to 10 feet long. Lizards can range in size; the smallest grow to only a few centimeters long.

Where do lizards live? Lizards can be found in temperate and tropical conditions throughout the world. Many are found on tropical islands in the Indian, Pacific, and Atlantic Oceans.

Out of all the species of lizards, the komodo dragon is the most dangerous to humans because of their venomous bite. On the other hand, the Mexican beaded lizard and the Gila lizard are also venomous but are non-threatening to humans.

Lizards are a very interesting species with many unique abilities. If you take the time to learn about them, you’ll see that they are very fascinating.
